Shipping Debate: Percabeth vs. Perachel

Post  Christof on Mon Jul 20, 2009 6:19 pm

OK, welcome to the Percabeth/Perachel shipping debate.

Since the Last Olympian confirmed that Percabeth is the "real" ship, this debate will be conducted as if Rachel had never became the oracle. (This debate is about what should have happened, not what happened). Post you're reasons here.

Please note that this topic should not be used to talk about anything other than Which ship should have happened. I am normally not strict about going of topic, but I will delete any posts that are of topic here.

You can (and should) use evidence to back up you're claim. Evidence can not be something along the lines of someone like Rick Riordan saying that Percabeth or Perachel will happen, and that is that. You're evidence can be along the lines of someone like Rick Riordan saying something like "I like Percabeth" or "I like Perachel". You're evidence can also be stats of how many people like the ship, or fanfiction, fansites, forum posts, fanart, MortalNet pages, ect.

Please try to have good spelling and gramar in this debate. Don't post anything like "i thik tat pxa wil b together".

If this topic get's allot of posts, and the discution gets really good, I may add a Privat forums for each ship so that the debaters can discuss arguments that they want to post, a profile field so that you can say which side you are on, and cool stuff like that.

NOW, LET THE DEBATE BEGIN!

Percabeth all the way!!!! Many times throughout the series, Percy is talking about how he goes weak in the knees (ok maybe not, but he says he gets nervous) when he's around Annabeth. One of his quotes was: "I missed Annabeth so much, I didn't want to admit it." or something like that. Another one was similar to: "It hurt to be with her, and it hurt to be without her." which is technically saying he loves her!!!!! Here's one from the LO. Grover and Percy are having a conversation about how so many nature spirits were lost. here's the last part: "...Won't change anything," I said. "You're still my best friend." He grinned. "Except for Annabeth." "That's different." "Yeah," he agreed. "It sure is." -LO pg 377
how about that? is this enough evidence?

i just remembered this!!! i can't believe i forgot it!!
anyway, in the titan's curse, Percy is worried about Annabeth when she's captured. the only reason he sneaks off on the quest is to find her. also, near the end when Artemis needs a new luinenent, he goes all weird:
"Annabeth, don't." "What?" "Look, I need to tell you something. I couldn't stand it if...I don't want you to-" "Percy? You look like you're going to be sick." And that's how I felt. I wanted to say more, but my tongue betrayed me. Artemis turned. "I shall have a new lieutenant, if she will accept it." "No..." "Thalia. Daughter of Zeus. Will you join the hunt?" -pg 291
And in The Last Olympian, Annabeth is worried about Percy becoming a god.
"Perseus Jackson-if you wish it-you shall be made a god." "A god?" "Yes." I glanced back. Annabeth was trying not to meet my eyes. Her face was pale. I flashed back to two years ago, when I thought she was going to take the pledge to Artemis and become a Hunter. "No." "No? You are...turning down our generous gift?" "I'm honored and everything. Don't get me wrong. It's just... I've got a lot of life left to live. I'd hate to peak in my sophmore year." The gods were glaring at me, but Annabeth had her hands over her mouth. Her eyes were shining. And that kind of made up for it. -pgs 350, 351, & 352
