What Greek Myths might be in the next series?
First topic message reminder :
Percy Jackson is based off of greek myths, but we still havn't seen allot of them.
What myths have we not seen in Percy Jackson. If we havn't seen them yet, we might see them in the next series.

No. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were always the top gods and the most powerful.

Re: What Greek Myths might be in the next series?
I would say the Gigantomachy (round 2). After the last time (according to greek mythology) that the olympians cast the titans into the depths of Tatarus Gaia angry at this treatment of her direct children (honestly who cares about grandchildren in greek mythology it seems).
She did 2 things:
1. Created Typon
2. Created a race of giants - who then stormed Olympus by piling 2 mountains on top of each other to get to the top
These giants could only be defeated by a human hero, Herecles (a.k.a Hercules)
So Book 5 ( TLO ) had the second round of the Titanomachy - Here comes the Gigantomachy (round 2)
O and also it might link in with the line about the earth falling into fire or storm, as these Giants were buried inside volcanoes.
Olympians (Zeus lord of the storms and skies) Vs The Giants (beings who were blamed in greek mythology at least for Volcanic activity or to put it a little more simply: FIRE)

Re: What Greek Myths might be in the next series?
Well.. pretty much everything in PJ series was something that Hercules (Heracles or Herecles) did at some point:
Nemean lion : Check
Hydra : Check
Ceryneian Hind: Erm not sure we had this one turn up..
Erymathian Boar: Check
Stables: Check
Stymphalian Birds: Check
Cretan Bull: Well Kind of done - minotaur counts i guess
Mares of Diomedes: Check
Girdle of hippolyte: Not Yet - Time for the Amazons i guess
Geryon (cattle): Check
Golden Apples: Kind of done by dodging Ladon
Capture Cerberus: another kind of done
So basically that leaves of the 12 labours:
1. The Amazons - Girdle of Hippolyte
2. Ceryneian Hind
Other Adventures of Hercules which haven't been done:
-Raiding Troy (kinda difficult...)
-Defeat the Gigantes (aid the gods, this is sort of done in the battle for manhattan though)
-Rescue prometheus
-Challenge Dionysus to a drinking competition (now thats something i'd love to see)
Not Much content for a new series but i believe this mythology of Hercules which was not fitted into the first series will be added: However there is a clear pattern to all this, Riordan used the mythological challenges of some of the great heroes for PJ.
So perhaps another Greek hero's adventures will be retold next series... Theseus, Odysseus or Perseus (the original)

Re: What Greek Myths might be in the next series?
True, however its unlikely to be entierly new myths and legends, there can only really be so many non famous ones.. must be some of the traditional ones which will be retold in the new series..hmm i really need to have a good nose at some of the lesser known myths.. (sorry slightly off topic..)
