Doesn't that dragon on the cover for the lost hero look like...
...the bronze dragon from (where else) the short story the bronze dragon that you can find in the demigod files.
For those of you who haven't read it, what happens is that Percy is playing capture the flag when he finds this big robotic bronze dragon (that isn't working, thankfully for Percy), and beckendorph (how much do you want to be that that is spelled wrong) sais something about getting it to work).
Anyway, spoiler alert. Do not read unless you have read the leaked chapters:
Anyway, what do you think? Why will this be significant to HOO?

- Spoiler:
- since we have a pretty good idea that one of the major demigods will be a child of Hephaestus (leo, the guy who "fixed" the megaphone), he could get the dragon to work again. And then they would have this robotic dragon thing that they can fly around in.
Anyway, what do you think? Why will this be significant to HOO?

I thought that too, and I think I brought it up somewhere. But I don't think that anymore now I think that it will be significant in some way, other than just a method of Transportation, when I first thought of my current theory I thought that it might actuattly be something like Deadalus a very old creature/Human/God/Immortal's animus transferred into an automaton in order to extend its life. So following that line I think that it may be like a encyclopedia of some sort and they rely on the creatures encyclopedic knowledge

But Leo could've built it, since he's obviosly the son of hephaestus. And Hephaestus makes automatons.

I agree but I'm just saying won't my theory just make it all that much more mysterious.

It was what Pendragon and I both thought at first, but because of the ants decided that Leo and Hepteastus cabin must have built a new one.

But Leo could've fixed it, and I'm fairly sure Beckendorf talked about fixing it too.

Re: Doesn't that dragon on the cover for the lost hero look like...
There are a couple of things that make me think that the Dragon on the cover isn't the one from the short story. The first are the eyes.In the short story, the dragon is described as having fist sized rubies for eyes, but the one on the cover really doesn't appear to have eyes. The other reason I don't think they are the same is that the dragon from the story had gold and bronze scales. The dragon on the cover doesn't have what I would call scales, they are more like plates.
So, I believe that the Hephaestus cabin, possibly with the help of Leo, built the cover dragon, but they may have used the old one as a model for the new one.

i think the dragon could've been from the story from the demigod files, or another automan that Dadelus (i know i spelt that wrong) built and was found maybe after the Last Olympain when **spoiler alert** annabeth activated all of the automans in New York.

i think it is the bronze dragon, maybe they found a way to exterminate the ants or something. i think all of the stories in Demigod Files might possibly be signifigant in Heroes of Olympus

That actually seems to fit! Especially since R.R. knew that he was going to write another series about Camp Half-blood.

Yeah, Deimos and Phobos made it clear that they would be back, and I think that in the Sword of Hades Rick put a lot of emphasis on Persephone, so maybe she'll have a large role in the series.

CLAIRENOEL AND CLEVARIAN your discussion belongs in The Lost Hero book thread not here in the dragon thread.
I don't believe it is the original dragon because the ants were so deadly and distructive. They would have dismantled the dragon by now.

No, P-daughter, I still think the Hephaestus kids could've patched it up in whatever state it was in, but I'm still not sure if it's the SAME Bronze Dragon; as I recall, the Bronze Dragon in the short story HAD NO WINGS.

Oh yeah, the Hephaestus kids can fix pretty much anything.
Maybe the bronze dragon from the short story got a wing transplant or something?

I don't remember it saying anything about the wings but it also didn't definitely say it didn't have wings.
