The Inkheart Trilogy

Post by percyjackson101 on Sun Sep 19, 2010 2:46 am

i just finished inkheart, and i have to say that is is like nothing i've read before- it is mixed with reality and fantasy, and and equal amount of darkness and lightness it in. Each of the characters have their own personality, as if they were a real person. i was sucked into the book like i felt what the characters felt- fear, happiness, releif, and a whole lot of other stuff too.

my next mission: read inkspell and inkdeath. i just thought that there should be a topic to discuss this series, and do put spoiler alerts!!! so begin your talk about the trilogy! study study

Let me just say, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I mean, What you said in your post is literally what I tell anyone when they ask about The Inkworld Trilogy. That series is one of my absolute, all-time favorites. I literally got pulled into its pages, and loved every second of it. And if you think all that about Inkheart....hoo boy...Wait till you read the rest. It JUST GETS BETTER. Smile

ikr! i just finished inkheart, and now i am beggining inkspell. i loved the ending of Inkheart, but i couldn't help but to get the next book ASAP. i think i can sort of relate to Mortimer and Meggie and Elinor because i am a book freak, and i hope to have a collection nearly as big as Elinors. i also love old books. Very Happy, but i can't find a book doctor in the yellow pages Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I lost the book (it was a library book) and by the time I found it we had to return it to avoid late fees, and I haven't got around to getting it again.

I just adjust my voice to sound like those voices are narrating, not mine. Mo's voice is slightly deeper (I try to imitate Brendan Fraser; he did a really good job!), Meggie's is British teenage female, Dustfinger's is softer and slightly haunting, Elinor's is sharp, concise British, etc.

changing the voices, i think that's what Poseidonsdaughter means.

Yea, i agree with Pendragon- Brendan Fraser did a great job of reading aloud. I just love Elinor in the movie, because she did right on point of how she was in the book. Did you know that Inkspell( the book) is actually dedicated to Bredan Fraser? Soo kooll.....
i also agree with Posidonsdaughter- reading books aloud is sometimes better than on paper, because it makes you feel like you can hear the characters right infront of you, if you do a good job at it...

I am almost done with Inkdeath, and it is SOOO GOOD! the story is so intense and a bit confusing, but it never stops surprising you. love this series. i think i will read the Lord of the Rings series after this one...

Hah! Good choice. Yeah, The Inkworld trilogy is DEFINITELY one of the best that I've ever read. I gotta warn you though, the Lord of The Rings can get REALLY thick and wordy at times. I mean, thick enough to get ME partially bored.
