Oil Disaster in Gulf
First topic message reminder :
okay so you all have probably known by now about the oil disaster in the Gulf. Here are some things to know if you don't:
1) BP was transferring oil from the tanks underwater, and they didn't close a pipe properly or something, so the pipe exploded, and then it caused a chain reaction for all of the other pipes to explode.
2) Millions of gallons of oil are all over the coasts near the Gulf, so lots of animals are dying.
3) we are loosing oil each second, and the problem is getting worse each day.
4) Now President Obama is demanding money from BP to fix the oil spill
5) BP refuses to clean now because of Hurricane Alex coming, so all of the oil is definetly going to get onto land.
Now if you don't live in America or near the gulf, you might not know about a lot of the oil crisis. but post your ideas here and discuss how to help!!!

Yes. None of the companies have any backup plan for if there is another leak. So if there is another leak (when is more likely), we will be looking at another situation like the gulf of Mexico.

Won't they change now, cause look at how much BP is now in the hole now..... So won't they start preparing plans, and they're talking about bipartisanly lifting the cap on how much a company can be responsible for to unlimited.

THe point is that they care about their money too, so they can loose less and start on Oil production sooner, so I do think that BP actuatlly really wants to clean up.
The russians and the US government were suggesting detonating a nuclear bomb on the leak site to collapse the leak.....

Re: Oil Disaster in Gulf
That wouldn't help much.
GRR! Now everyone's somehow mad at me. Probably because my initials are BP.

Now that they closed up the big spill, everyone was so happy, and now theres a different, smaller spill because a tugboat hit an abandoned well. Natural gas is also coming out of the new spill.

Yeah I heard about that. I have this really odd feeling that maybe the people on tugboat wanted to hit it... idk why though, it's weird.
Anyway I hope they fix it! Enough innocent animals have died form the last spill :(

Re: Oil Disaster in Gulf
Here's another thing I doubt you guys know:
(I saw this on the news conference thing like a while ago) Obama is really blowing the issue in everyones faces and also he was trying to use the spill to get publicity for the health care thing again!!!!! He really wants to pass that bill!
I do agree that they should get the spill cleaned up and try to get as much oil and junk out of the water before Hurricane Alex (awesome my hurricane!!!) hits.

Re: Oil Disaster in Gulf
Now I can't stop thinking about what would happen if the Hurricane came while the spill was still happening.... long story short the ocean would be a wasit land and in the end all of the sea animals would die form getting oil on them, and we humans all die form thirst.
wow, thats depressing to think about.

Let's think positive: they will cap the leak before the hurricane comes, and everyone will be happy!!

I doubt it. I mean they don't seem to have made much progress so far.

Well, it's better than saying, "Everything's going to die." Even if it's not true, thinking positively helps your mood.
