Percy Immortal

does anyone think that Percy should have become immortal at the end of the last olympian?

i think it was a wise choice for him to be mortal, but being immortal has its risks and advantages. being mortal means you could live with your friends freely, and being immortal has risks (like they mentioned in the book): you have to see your friends and family pass on and you stay like a teen forever (which is awesome). You will also get a lot attention, so i would rather stay mortal.

i think immortal would be awesome, but mortal is fine too. for percy im sure the mortal was a good choice, but if i had to choose... i might pick immortal...

yeah, i agree that percy being mortal was the right choice, but it would have been cool to read it from the point of view of him being a god. you would find out about the gods more personally, and that would be interesting, but mortal is the best for percy

If they made percy immortal then he probably wouldnt be in the next sieres as much so i like the way rick did it

True. I hope Percy and annabeth are in the next series

I think Percy made the right choice. He gave up immortality to spend a (relatively) short but happy life with Annabeth, and I think thats what people in love will always do.

yea exactly. so like some things are just stronger than others.

But there is also the risk that he might only live for like 3 years longer, and that is a short life even compared to humans.

yea. but wouldn't you wanna die in knowing that you had friends with you the whole way, instead of just a part of your life, and then they passed on, leaving you to die forgeting what it was like having your friend there.

but if you were inmortal then you would live forever so it would be ever worse

Being immortal would be lonely. Always getting into fights with your immortal friends, having your mortal friends die. It sounds depressing.

You know this is probably the biggest what if ever in the whole series.....

agreed. lol. it has made many fanfics though. lol. to be honest i really hate the idea of percy being a god, just cause it so romantic that he didnt! the way i see it one of his reasons -for me the top reason- was annabeth. even if both of them got turned into gods -i have read a fanfic or to like that- i still dont think i would like it. i like romance.... though the idea of percy and annabeth living together for ever and forever in love is sweet. alittle bit to twilight. but sweet :) but still i love the book verison best

i like that idea... :) i think i have read a fanfic about something along those lines... but yeah, i think he would, i mean if he still saw her i think so. if percy became a god i am pretty sure he would still try to stay in touch with annabeth, grover, tyson, and his mom. unless they didnt want to talk to him or if he wanted to pull a new moon edward cullen and cut off all contact trying to protect them.

and, what would Percy be the god of? Everything's taken!

that i have no idea of.... i just checked a wiki list to make sure of this, but wow there is nothing for him.... i only checked all the things that had to do with poseidon though. is there already a god of friendship or loyalty to friends cause thats percys fatal flaw...

if youre a god you dont neccesarily have to be a god of something, cuz u know Poseidon's other son, the immortal one, Triton, he isnt a god of anything, he's just sort of like Poseidon's general. And also, he's the god of a certain saltwater lake i think, so Percy could be like the god of the atlantic ocean or the god of the pacific or something.

thanks...i did some research in TLO when Zeus is offering Percy immortality, he says "you will serve as your fathers leutenant for eternity" so, he'd be like a leutenant person
