Do you perfer Roman or Greek Myths
First topic message reminder :
The title says it all. I myself like greek myths better although I do enjoy the myth of how Rome came to be.

Re: Do you perfer Roman or Greek Myths
Aren't Greek and Roman myths basically the same just with different names?

Re: Do you perfer Roman or Greek Myths
The origional myths of both cultures are fundamentally different.....but the myths that have crossed over and are now indistinguishable from their origions are the ones with the different names...
I.e Diana/Actaeon instead of Artemis/Actaeon..
So yes you are right but the origional myths... of which each culture individually devised do differ. Romans focus on heroes because of the steady drift away from their own religion towards Christianity...
I'm going to start ranting about nothing in a minute so I'll stop there.....but you get the idea.

Re: Do you perfer Roman or Greek Myths
I prefer Greek Myths because I find Roman Mythology hard to keep up with (if you'll believe me). But other than that, after reading Percy Jackson, I prefer Greek to Roman. Had Percy Jackson been about Roman mythology, and as well written, then without doubt i would choose it. I would criticize Greek myths and be partial towards Roman mythology. In a way, they both are the same. So, if there were no Percy books, then this question wouldn't be there. Even if it were, people would check between them excessively and find them to be the same. so, in a way, this question doesn't really have an answer
