Clairesse vs. Nancy

Ok so if you've read the first book, rick mentions clairesse and nancy. They both are alike, but percy gets to see clairesse more because he tranfers to different schools.

which one do you think is better and why?? post your idea!!

I think Clarisse is a very good character and actually considers Percy a good friend. Nancy just doesn't feature in the series enough to provoke any emotion beyond mild annoyance...

I agree with Penguin, Nancy appears for nothing more than an introduction, a testiment to how boring and dull Percy's life is and how he's just like any other teenager. So there is basically no point to making a big deal out of her character as she only appears for such a short time and is referenced later as a literature device to bring the reader into camp and treat it like its any other school, eg the one mentioned at the start.

Well, if Percy did meet Nancy again, then she wouldn't be as challenging an opponent as Clarisse.

Nancy is just a bully she relies on fear, not skill, while Clarisse is visa-versa and possible both. So of course Clarisse would win.

Nancy would probably burst into flames if she fought with Clarisse.

Clarisse is way better.
