I think it's because Chiron and Kronos are both males they automaticaly think a child of Ktonos as a male.
And I akso think a female daughter of Kronos would be annoyed by the boys being sexist!!

since Dionysos said in book five that cronos would be te3n times more powerful than the gods in his immortal form, I can assume that any demititan child of his would be more powerful than a child of the big three.
