How did Annabeth know about Percy's weak spot?

Did anyone else wonder how Annabeth knew to take the knife for Percy? When he said "her breath smelled like grapes" and he thought it was from the nectar, could a god (Dionysius) have intervened? Just wondering...

You have a point! Maybe their feelings for each other were so strong (hihi ), Annabeth simply had a feeling he was in danger...

Well my thought on the matter would be that when he thought of Annabeth whilst he was in the river styx he therefore bound her to his mortal point, and she subconciously was alerted to his danger.

lol i think about these things too much hate story lines that do not make sense so i always try and make sense of them within the authors boundries

i also think the empathy link could be the answer. But how was the link created? Did annabeth create it by herself?

I don't think so, empathy links are to do with nature and Percy and Annabeth don't have much nature powers.

like remember that Annabeth had taken the knife for Percy, and Percy had asked why she knew about the spot, and she said that she just took the knife. so she must've just felt it was rite.......

maybe she didnt know, maybe she just saw someone about to stab percy and defended him! its possible.

How about Annabeth's vow on the River Styx (to chiron) that she would protect him the best she could in Bk.2 Sea of Monsters?

If she vowed to protect him with her life in effect...

well she's done it so far.

Exactly, but her vow forced her to endanger her life to protect him.

It all comes down to the Styx to how she knew about it:

1. She vowed on the Styx to protect him, her vow somehow forces her into knifes path
2. Percy bound her to his mortal point by thinking about her whilst in the Styx and she was a part of the bond from that point onwards.

My 2 explanations that I have given before, both tie neatly together.

so maybe when she was fightning, her instincts of the vow told her to take the knife

I think based on this it could be the river styx pointing her in the right direction.

I think Dionysis interfered with that part too.

I think they are just that connected because Annabeth said she didn't know how, but she just felt Percy was in danger. Maybe the gods were interveining by givng Annabeth and Percy that connection? Possibly?

I think this has already been discussed.

I think the gods might of helped annabeth a little but like this:

annabeth is fighting a random person.
random god: "hey annabeth look! percy's about to be stabbed in the back and killed! remember the promise annabeth..........reeeemmmmeeemmmmbbbbeeeerrrrrr.......
annabeth: oh no! *saves percy*

Will Annabeth listen to a random person(she might not know it is a god)

i meant a god was talking to her in her head. I was just to lazy to pick which god.
