Harry Potter MOVIES VS The Lightning Theif MOVIE (based on books)

First topic message reminder :

so which one is better; Harry Potter movies or Percy Jackson the lightning theif?? **based on the book, not movie-wise* I think they did better basing the movie on the book for harry potter, but the lightning thief's plot was awesome, too. what do yall' think?

Well HP followed the original storyline better but PJO is by far the better movie.

I think that both are good movies if you have not read the books, but there is a lot of content they changed. However, all in all, They were both good movies

yea i agree. though, if you do look a little deeper into the lightning thief, you could find things related to harry potter. like ceberus.

Well i suppose with the same director they are bound to have various similarities the thing is harry potter films were more true to the storyline in general than The Lightning Thief, so on that basis i would say the harry potter films are better

Also, centaurs are from Greek myth, and there are centaurs in Harry Potter.

another thing (i think this was mentioned before) in the first book of HP, they had a three-headed gaurd dog to guard the entrance of The Sorcer's Stone. The Three-headed gaurd dog sounds so familair, like in *cough-*cough Underworld*cough-*cough

I saw this show a long time ago and JK Rowling said that there was a lot of greek mythology like Hagrid and other stuff

When it comes to the movies and which were more faithful to the books, all of harry's win hands down.

Of course it was one of the conditions to which J.K. Rowling sold the rights. They had to stay quite faithful to the books.

The movies are both very different from the films, but (apart from the pearl hunt) the Percy Jackson movies, because they deliberately changed the plot, while the HP movies just forgot stuffor cut it.

P.S. I wonder what the Director's Cut 4 Percy will be like?!?!?!?!?

In Percy j film they tell you Posiedon is his dad at the start while in the book it tells you in the like 6th chapter!
