best book turned movie?

I hate reading subtitles 'cuz, well, it just gets so annoying to have to stare at the bottom of the screen the whole time.

Does anyone know if Ponyo is available instantly on Netflix?? I would really like to watch it without subtitles.

Havent seen HP1 so.. narnia.

Harry Potter 1 turned out almost perfect. It followed the story line almost exactly.

Well, yes. I think he was working on his other series, in my opinion, they're not as good as PJO, so yeah, he should've watched.

But HP was one of those things of sheer awesomeness. Written so well, no one would care if they were children.

I can't believe your parents won't let you watch it. I saw HP 3 when I was in in first/second/third grade!

They think I'm too impressionable =P and besides, my family is Christian, so that's why the witchcraft doesn't go over too well.

My mom's Christian, too, which is why I can't put a HP poster in my room. I confess, when I first started reading HP, I tried to open locks with my pencil, which, sadly, did not work. I also tried killing my brother, which also did not work. It's too bad...

We're Christian too, and our parents let us read pretty much anything so long as it isn't inappropriate, wrong/gross, horror, etc. Fiction; the sky is the limit!

Hmm. I haven't watched too many book-to-movie adaptations. Right now my favorite is Narnia: Lion Witch Wardrobe.

I haven't read the book in a while. I need to read it....

Prince Caspian is pretty good, but I haven't read the whole book yet. I got a little disinterested while I was reading it. That was before the movie. Now I'd like to reread it and finish it. =)

I've only read Lion Witch Wardrobe in the Narnia series.

Anyway, hopefully Maximum Ride will be a movie. Although I think they were going to make the first one, and it was going to come out next year! =D I just hope they get it right...

Yea I do too. I think the MR movie is supposed to come out on 2012, maybe 2013? That would be awesome if it came out in 2013, because here are the other movies that are coming out then:
PJO-SoM
HTTYD 2
Despicable Me 2

Late 2012, early 2013. depends on how quickly they get it done etc.

I want them to do an Artemis Fowl movie, but I also don't want them to screw it up. If Artemis turns fifteen/sixteen/older than twelve, the story will be less awesome. And I don't know if they'll keep Holly so short. It'd be weird.

Well pretty much every book-turned-movie is weird, especially if you imagine what everything looks like.
